Ms. Mehl is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been in practice in various settings since 1996 and currently provides individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy for children through older adults. She has gained knowledge and experience in evidence-based treatments for patients with mood disorders, anxiety and trauma-based disorders, substance abuse disorders, and personality disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder. Ms. Mehl also has expertise in helping her child and adolescent patients with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder.
Evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and the STEPPS program (Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving) are regularly employed by Ms. Mehl to help her patients reduce the risk of harmful behaviors and to improve their interpersonal relationships and life satisfaction.
Ms. Mehl earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Radford University in 1992 and her Masters of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University in 1994.
