Dr. Scott was credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in July 2006. Prior to 2006, she served as a School Psychologist and Special Education Teacher. Dr. Scott earned both her Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia. While earning these degrees, she also received additional training in the areas of Early Childhood Development and Special Education. Dr. Scott earned her undergraduate degree in Developmental Psychology from Duke University. She has worked in a variety of settings including completing an internship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children, which is part of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Her current areas of specialty include the diagnosis and evaluation of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder, Learning Disorders, and Anxiety. Dr. Scott also has specialized training in early childhood assessment and intervention. She treats children as young as four and five years old. She is a published author in the areas of Multicultural Education, Special Education, and Teacher Education. Dr. Scott provides assessment and psychotherapy services for children, adolescents and adults. She is available for parent training seminars, community consultations, and provides in-service seminars for local schools.
